The SFI Annual Policy Conference
Wednesday, November 18

The theme of this year’s conference is “Building Bridges.” Presentations will focus on improving communication between the SFI members and three levels of government, Federal, Provincial and First Nations, as well as with the conservation community. Program details will be posted on this page as they become available.

The Big Splash Fundraising Dinner
Wednesday Evening, November 18

The Big Splash Gala Fundraising Dinner is the main event of the year for the sport fish and recreational marine industries. Featuring a silent auction, live auction, great food and networking with colleagues, competitors and potential clients, we’re sure you won’t want to miss this fun-filled evening.

ACCOMMODATIONS

SFI has arranged a special conference rate of $129 (single or double) at the Delta Vancouver Airport Hotel. Please make your own reservations by November 1. Call the hotel directly, not the toll free number, and be sure to mention that you are with the Big Splash 2009. Rates are subject to 5% GST and a 10% Hotel Tax.

DIRECTIONS, PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION

Parking: Parking on November 18 is complimentary for participants in the conference and Big Splash fundraiser, but you must display a valid complimentary parking pass which you can obtain at the hotel front desk.

Transportation from/to the Airport: A hotel shuttle stops on Level 1 (International and Domestic Terminals) every 20 minutes. A taxi costs approximately $10 and takes less than 10 minutes to get to or from the hotel.

Public Transportation: If you would like to take the new Canada Line (light rail rapid transit) from Vancouver to the hotel, the quickest way is to take the Canada Line to the airport and catch the hotel shuttle.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All cancellations must be received in writing. The amount paid less a 15% processing fee will be refunded for cancellations dated before November 11. Following this date, no refunds will be given, but substitutes may be sent. The Sport Fishing Institute of BC reserves the right to modify the conference program or to cancel or postpone the conference. The Sport Fishing Institute of BC is not responsible for any non-refundable expenses incurred for travel and accommodations associated with this event.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Payment - Payment can be made by VISA, MasterCard or cheque. Full payment must be received on or before November 18, the date of the conference.

Confirmation Email - After you register online, you will receive a confirmation by email.

Invoice - If you select “Pay by Cheque,” you will receive an invoice by email.

Tickets - Your Big Splash tickets will be provided under your company name when you arrive at the dinner.
