INCREASING SURVIVAL OF RELEASED FISH

AVOID OR MINIMIZE CONTACT
Use a Waterline Release
Avoid use of Nets to prevent damage to fins and slime coat
Use a Gaff, pliers or other tool to remove hooks boatside while fish is still in the water

MODIFY GEAR AND TACTICS
Use single hooks 3/0 or smaller to minimize damage
Instead of inline flashers consider dummy flashers on downrigger balls

AVOID SMALL FISH
Change areas, gear or depths fished when encountering sub-legal fish or unexpected species
