CTAG Certification

The program, Certified Tidal Angling Guide (TAG) – a provincial certification issued by the Industry Training Authority, was developed over the course of nearly 4 years in collaboration with numerous stakeholders and organizations including:
The CTAG program establishes best practices and standards for saltwater guides in BC ensuring the highest level of customer service and safety standards in North America.

Experienced guides need only to provide evidence of 750 hours guiding experience and verification of all Transport Canada required courses and will then be eligible to challenge the certification.
In addition to satisfying all regulatory requirements, the SFI CTAG membership program, available only to TAG certified guides, provides a unique and powerful way to promote your business and a distinct and world-class recreational fishery in BC.
